2010 heralds a landmark for family firm, D & D Construction, who celebrate 40 years serving the Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Kent counties.
Doug Jeary and Denis Wickham started the firm in 1970. Doug recalls ‘Denis and I had worked together for 7 years before we formed the company, at the time this seemed the natural progression. D&D was therefore formed…’ Sadly Denis passed away in 2003, but Doug continues to run the firm with the same commitment to the supply of quality buildings, alongside excellent customer service.
D & D provide a fully comprehensive building fabrication and construction service predominately to the agriculture sector. More recently they have become involved in waste recycling construction and various rural diversification projects. As such D&D are able to supply and erect any type of agricultural and light industrial steel-framed building. Paramount to the design process is their endeavour to always ensure that the building will be attractive as well as functional.
The future for D&D is very bright. There are plans to grow the business in the next few years as the country climbs out of the recession, and when confidence returns to the marketplace. Doug comments ‘it has been a tough year but we have fared well, especially building upon our ongoing relationships with the farming community.’ Given their commitment to customer service it is no surprise that a large portion of D&D’s work is generated from repeat business.
Rest assured that D&D will continue to offer unbeatable value and service and will remain true to its agricultural heritage. Doug says ‘the key to our success has been the ability to listen and remain flexible to our customer’s requirements. We are very proud of our track record of delivering customer service and value, and look forward to the next 40 years serving the farming community.’
