The need to separate clean and dirty water has prompted many farmers to build permanent covers over their collecting yards, holding pens and silage clamps. These covers need to be correctly sized to allow machinery to operate without hindrance from steel uprights or low purlins.
Timber processing and timber/woodchip storage form significant sectors of the forestry industry. The buildings required by forestries are often of specialist design and have particular environmental features, such as blending in to environmental restrictions.
Erecting buildings within confined sites can sometimes prove challenging, especially if the general public have access to the adjacent areas. Having liaised closely with the site owners, operating tenants and Local Authorities we ensure that both the retail operations and construction activities may be carried out simultaneously.
These wide-span buildings have to be designed to cope with large machinery and high volume throughout. The suppression of noise, dust and smells are important features of the design. D and D Construction have embraced the challenges presented by these structures and have erected several recycling facilities in the South East of England.
